User interface

Extreme Thumbnail Generator has a wizard-like interface. It means that in order to create an image gallery or a web photo album you have to complete several steps. Each step lets you input different information about your future gallery, like gallery title, images you want to put into your album, page headers, footers and so on. You are not bound to follow all the steps consecutively and may skip any of them - if some important data appears to be omitted, Extreme Thumbnail Generator will prompt you to enter it. The buttons on the top are used for quick navigation among the wizard steps.

However, you may use the Back and Next buttons at the bottom to follow all the steps of project.

The main menu (in the left upper corner of the main program window) contains the following items:

File

• New project - Creates a new project. The term Project is used to denote each individual image gallery. Shortcut key: Ctrl + N.

• Open project - Opens a previously saved project. Shortcut key: Ctrl + O.

• Save project - Saves currently open project if it is modified. If the project name, displayed on the main window caption, contains asterisk (*) sign, then the project is modified. Shortcut key: Ctrl + S.

• Save project as - Saves currently open project under the different name. Shortcut key: Shift + Ctrl + S.

• Recent projects - Contains a submenu with recent project file names. Clicking a project file name in this submenu will open a corresponding project.

• Close - Closes Extreme Thumbnail Generator. You will be prompted to save the current project is it is modified. Shortcut key: Alt + F4.

Images

• Add images

  • Images - Lets you select and add to the project individual images.

  • Folder - Lets you select a folder. After the folder is selected, all images from it will be added to the project.

• Remove images

  • Selected images - Removes selected images from image list.

  • Clear image list - Removes all images from image list.

• Move images up - Moves all selected images towards the beginning of the image list.

• Move images down - Moves all selected images towards the end of the image list.

• Rotate image counterclockwise - Rotates the selected image 90 degrees counterclockwise.

• Rotate image clockwise - Rotates the selected image 90 degrees clockwise.

• Sort image list

  • By file name (ascending) - Sorts image list by the name of the image files in ascending order.

  • By file name (descending) - Sorts image list by the name of the image files in descending order.

  • By file path (ascending) - Sorts image list by the full file name of the image files (including the path) in ascending order.

  • By file path (descending) - Sorts image list by the full file name of the image files (including the path) in descending order.

  • By file size (ascending) - Sorts image list by the image file size in ascending order.

  • By file size (descending) - Sorts image list by the image file size in descending order.

  • By file date (ascending) - Sorts image list by image file date in ascending order.

  • By file date (descending) - Sorts image list by image file date in descending order.

  • By image size (ascending) - Sorts image list by the image size (width and height) in ascending order.

  • By image size (descending) - Sorts image list by the image size (width and height) in descending order.

• Image effects... - Shows the Image effects editor with currently selected image loaded

• View image... - Opens the selected image in your image viewer

• Image properties... - Shows the properties of the selected image (including EXIF information, if it is present in the image file)

Gallery

• Generate - Generates all gallery pages, thumbnail images and puts the results into the destination folder. Shortcut key: Ctrl + G.

• View - Displays the generated gallery in the default web browser. Shortcut key: Ctrl + W.

• Open gallery folder - Opens the gallery destination folder in Windows explorer. Shortcut key: Ctrl + F.

• Create zip archive - Creates a zip archive containing all files from the gallery destination folder.

• Publish - Allows you to publish your gallery via FTP.

• Edit template... - Opens the current gallery template in the built-in template editor. Shortcut key: Ctrl + E.

Tools

• Interface language

  • Download other languages - Opens Extreme Thumbnail Generator languages page. This page contains downloadable language modules with different interface translations.

• Settings... - Opens Settings dialog.

Help

• Contents - Displays program help file. Shortcut key: F1.

• Web site... - Opens Extreme Internet Software web page (http://www.exisoftware.com).

• Email to support... - Lets you write an email message to Extreme Internet Software support team at support@exisoftware.com.

• Order now... - Opens the Extreme Thumbnail Generator order page.

• Enter registration key... - Opens the registration window. Please see Extreme Thumbnail Generator registration for more details.

• About... - Displays the Extreme Thumbnail Generator information window.
