Quick Start Guide

Extreme Picture Finder serves two main purposes:

  • Download files of any type (pictures, video, audio, etc.) from the Web to your hard drive

  • Search the Web for images using the most popular search engines and saving the search results for later use.

Download files

To download files from the Web using Extreme Picture Finder you have to create a new Download Project or find one in the Online Project Database and then Start it.

Create a new Download Project

To create a new Download Project you can use menu command Project | New Project. This command opens the New Project Wizard that consist of several easy steps. Here you will have to provide the basic information about your download: Starting Address (URL), type of files to save (Target Files), and local folder, where to save the Target Files, the Destination folder. After the new Download Project is created it will appear on the Projects Tree.

Start the download

There are two ways of starting the Download Project:

  • On the last step of the New Project Wizard you can select the Immediately start this project option to start the download immediately after the project is created.

  • Alternatively, you can select the project you wish to start on the Projects Tree and use menu command Download | Start / Resume.

Search the Web for images

To find images in the Internet using keywords you have to create a new Search specifying your search phrase and other parameters and then Start it.

Create a new Search

To create a new Search you can use menu command Search | New Search. This command opens the New Search Wizard that consist of several easy steps. Here you must enter your Search Phrase, specify the Search Mode, select Search Engines, and a local folder, where to save the search results, the Destination folder. After the new Search is created, it will appear on the Searches List.

Start searching

There are two basic ways of starting the Search:

  • On the last step of the New Search Wizard you can select the Immediately start this search option to start searching immediately after the Search is created.

  • Alternatively, you can select the Search you wish to start on the Searches List and use menu command Download | Start / Resume.

Stop the download

To stop active Downoload Project or Search you can use the menu command Download | Stop or the Stop button on the toolbar. This will stop the download immediately aborting the files that are currently being downloaded. If you want to finish downloading current files and after that stop the download process, then you should use menu command Download | Stop after finishing current files or the corresponding toolbar button.
