Naming

The Naming section allows you to select the way downloaded files are named when they are stored on your hard drive. You can choose between the following options:

  • Keep original file name. The original file name is used in this case.

  • Use query string for file name. File name will be created using HTTP request query string that was used to download this file. If Use value of the following parameter box is checked and the name of the query string parameter is entered in the corresponding edit field, then only the value of the selected parameter will be used to create a file name. Otherwise - entire query string is used.

  • Use parent page title for file name. Extreme Picture Finder will use the title of the page where the link to the target file was found and add the extension of the target file to it to create a file name.

  • Generate numerical file name. All files will be saved using a numerical name and the original extension. The numbers will start from the value specified in the Starting from field. You can also specify the minimum number of sigits in the file name using the Number of digits field. If the number has less digits than specified, then Extreme Picture Finder will add leading zeros to the file name. The resulting file name may look like one of the following examples: 001.jpg, 290.zip, 123.gif.

  • Use current date and numerical file name. The same as above, plus the current date is added before the number in the following format MM-DD-YYYY. The resulting file name may look like one of the following examples: 04-23-2005-001.jpg, 03-12-1999-290.zip, 12-12-2000-123.gif

Add the following prefix to the file name

You can enter any text in this field. It will be added to the beginning of every file name when the file is saved.

Add the following suffix to the file name

You can enter any text in this field. It will be added to the end of every file name (before the file extension) when the file is saved.

Change the file extension to

If this box is checked, then all saved files will have the extension you provide in the edit field. The new extension will be added to the existing one.
